New stitches

Over Christmas I had time to try out some new crafts. I did some knitting (which I never normally do), woodwork (which I never normally do) and I tried this craft which I learnt years ago. I've forgotten the name of it but it involves creating a 3D piece through blanket stitches on a piece of fabric. I made seaweed to attach to shells and over the weekend I started playing around, working out which shells to attach it to.

Hope your week is a cheerful one. See you soon. x

  11. it might be called detached buttonhole stitching but I think there is also another name for it that is escaping me right now.
I love the pieces you made so much.

  12. Oh, thanks. I found quite some tutorials concerning the detached buttonhole stich and it looks great. All of them are made on fabric though which I can't find in your pictures, Jill. Is there a little piece at the root that I don't see? Or how did you start your stitching? Thank you!
