Did everyone enjoy the break? See anything good? I'm sorry it's taken me a while to post everything I saw over Christmas and New Year - I've managed to get yet another cold and so had to take Tuesday and Wednesday off. That's my third one this winter. Anybody know any good remedies which stop you getting a cold? Happy New Year everyone. Jill x x
Hello Jill and nice to "see" you!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, first of all!
Remedies against colds are as hit and miss as anything, I think. I would say that going for a walk in any weather and drinking fresh OJ and staying out of "harm's way" will do it.
I had loads of colds last year, but this year only a sniffle! So maybe it is just bad luck?
Thanks for the updates though, they were brilliant and I am quite jealous of the Venison pie!
Welcome back and thanks for bringing us up to date with posts of previous drawings.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, you have built up your immune system enough!
hi, nice to see an update after a long time...
ReplyDeleteanyways, do get well sooon..
Happy New Year...
;)
Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteNo tips other than wash your hands frequently.
I've been sick twice myself (I just don't want to get others sick too).
Love your blog!
Sorry to hear you're poorly. You need EITHER (a) Immunace, from the chemists, which is a one-a-day thingy, or (b) jaffa cakes, which are rich in vitamin C.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon.

Live in the Arizona desert! Beautiful sunshine and we can visit the snow in the nearby mountains whenever we want. Glad you are on the mend. We love your drawings.
ReplyDeleteVitamin C helps u stop getting cold!
ReplyDeleteYou can try some Echinacea Tea. It is a caffeine free herbal tea.
ReplyDeleteThe one I have is from Traditional Medicinals and the title of the product is "Organic Echinacea Elder".
Hope this helps so that you can keep posting your wonderful drawings.
Hi Jill,
ReplyDeletetry homemade chicken soup. But keep it plain (just water boiling with chicken, until chicken is done and add some noodles or rice and if you like some veggies)
And fresh citron tea with some honey.
Get well soon!!
Happy New Year to you too Jill ^_^
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots of snow sculptures and snowmen and snow :
I suppose working with kids you get every germ going :
my tip would be wash your hands lots or use one of those hand gel sanitisers :
in the winter I take multivits and make sure I eat plenty of fruit :
it's easy to slip when the weather gets snowy and the comfort food beckons!
*beautiful photo btw ~ nice to see you*
happy new year!
ReplyDeleteTo keep the colds at bay - I have been eating lots of curry with turmeric, ginger and garlic. Then detoxing with green tea. So far so good. Nice to see you back online, I hadn't realised how used to your daily pictures I had become until they were not there. Keep up the good work, don't let the cold get you down.
ReplyDeleteJill,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back! I missed your posts. Sorry to hear your ill... in Texas we default to a lot of good old fashioned chicken noodle soup for treating colds. Hope you're feeling better soon.
hi you,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are sick again. Here are some remedies I use as soon as I start to feel sick in order to avoid getting worse: increase my vitamin d and vitamin c intake, take oil of oregano drops (spicy but effective), and start a round of cold fx (http://www.cold-fx.ca/).
And if I do get sick then I keep taking more vitamin c and d, make tea with fresh ginger and lemon, take hot baths and of course - feel sorry for myself;)
I hope you feel better soon

How about a recipe for cough syrup?
ReplyDelete1 Tblsp LEMON JUICE (antiseptic)
1 Tblsp OLIVE OIL (coats the throat)
Shake and sip by teaspoonfuls as through out the day.
If needed add SALT as an expectorant.
Thanks for all that cute posts I loved them, I hope the best for you this year, that includes no-more-colds-please!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!!
Echinacea tablets, vitamin C & zinc and loads of water. I have had a few colds too, don't know what is up with this Winter!?
ReplyDeleteI hope you get better soon anyway.
Another remedy is what my boyfriend's mum made for me: a 'hot toddy' with whiskey, lemon & honey, which did help as it very efficiently knocked me out for a few hours & I sort of slept the cold off..
